Easter Weekend in Houston

We went to Houston this past weekend to enjoy the holiday with a some friends. Kim has family there so we spent time with them and did a little sightseeing. We visited the Houston Zoo and saw lots of neat animals. It was definitely better than the Dallas zoo!

Here's Collin crawling thought the piranha tunnel with his new buddy Jonathan.

so hot and humid.

just had to get a drink from the lion fountain. after a few tries, I don't think he ever got any water anyhow.

On Saturday, we visited Galveston. It's an island about 40 minutes south of Houston. Everyone says it's really dirty and gross. I've never been there so had to go see for myself. It's definitely not a caribbean vacation spot. So...yes..it was pretty dirty and there really isn't much beach or a boradwalk or anything to do there. So now we can say we've visited Galaveston.

lots of dead jellyfish on the beach. somehow, this isn't what I pictured them to look like.

brown water. it's get bluer further out...but hey...it is the gulf of mexico.

22.5 weeks!

Collin was sleeping so didn't care to join in this family pic.

a ride on daddy's shoulders at the Kemah Pier.

We spent Easter Sunday at Kim's parents house! They have a fun family and had lots of food. 120 pounds of crawfish, 200 oysters, and lots of yummy bbq. Her sisters planned out a fun day for all the little kids.

bean bag toss with co kim's help.

ring toss.

sack races. ok..me and Collin sat out for this event.

Confetti eggs. every year they get confetti eggs and break them on people's heads. Confetti was everywhere!!

the finally...the easter egg hunt. So they didn't really hide the eggs but just spread them all over the front lawn. They had close to 1000 eggs all filled with candy. Collin didn't make a mad dash to pick the eggs up... he would pick up a few then get distracted by knowing something was in them. So he would get a few...dump out his basket and try to open them to see what was inside. There was definitely plenty of eggs to go around.

Hope everyone had a great Easter!
